Steve is a project management practitioner with over 30 years experience gained from working for Contractors, Sub-contractors and Owners delivering profitably large-scale multi-disciplinary infrastructure and mixed use building projects in the Far East. With a strong commercial background, he has undertaken various team/project leadership roles including start-ups and roles outside his traditional discipline. He is also a Mediator, a dispute resolution practitioner and a proponent of pro-active collaborative project management with a risk managed approach to delivery and safety.
Abstract
There are many different ways to procure the delivery of a Project, how to select an appropriate procurement approach for your project to achieve success? Mr. Steve Tennant will compare a number of different procurement methods and their application; consider methods of tendering; look at the “cheapest is best (?)” philosophy; talk about risk, reward and responsibility, discuss partnering and finally ask the question, what is Project Success? All will be done from a practical rather than academic perspective.
