Abstract:
Kau Yi Chau Artificial Islands with transport infrastructure and Digital port are the components of
Hong Kong economic development framework in these days and near future. The role of Hong
Kong Land Surveyor is to provide highly efficient methods and high accuracy data for the projects.
This CPD presents the feasibility of applying the combined data set of multi-beam echo sounding
(MBES) systems and mobile mapping systems (MMS) being a seamless point cloud model applied
to a wide variety of fields, including marine construction and coastal facility management.
About the Speaker:
Mr. Lam Ngo Sum MHKIS, MCICES, MHKIES, MHKICBIM, MNZIS, BSc
Mr. Lam is a land surveyor representing Chainage Engineering Global Service Ltd. and the Director
of Neptune 22 Equipment & Technical Services Ltd. He has over 20 years of experience in
hydrographic survey and marine construction, ranging from offshore geophysical survey to the
major reclamation projects in the past decades.
Ms. Lai Mei Yee MHKICBIM, MSc (IPD), MSc (Geomatics)
Ms. Lai, Product and Technical Manager of Leica Geosystems Limited (Hong Kong), has more
than 9 years experience of 3D laser scanning and mobile mapping.
