Chris Preston is the President of Chartered ICES and he is a Senior Geospatial engineering surveyor and railway industry specialist for more than 37 years experience. He has been working in a consultancy, running his own consultancy business and worked in both private and quasi public sector organizations which has given him good oversight into various business models. He has also been working as a project manager, people manager, responsible for managing a survey consultancy business, setting up Quality Assurance processes and technical standards authoring.
In this CPD the President will introduce to us the consideration of the issues that the UK is facing in the railway system and how they may be applicable internationally especially in terms of capacity and resilience with huge ridership increases. He will also make comparsion between the UK underground with Hong Kong’s light rail systems. He will also be looking at engineering issues and potential solutions for the challenges that are facing the UK and HK railway systems.. |
