Respecting our history while looking ahead is the way of our education system, especially in Chinese cultural, what we say “飲水思源 溫故知新”. If we can understand our history and learn from our older generation’s experience, we can get success more easily, even in our life or our career. Our next generation will also learn from our experience to create more new things to improve our further. That is the main idea of respecting our history.
Together with the development of the technology, the heritage or historic buildings can be presented in more informative and interactive way. In order to change the mind of public what is heritage, Antiquities and Monuments Office is one of the key official authority in Hong Kong to preserve, record and maintain the heritages in Hong Kong. The aim is to promote how to admire our heritages to the public. It is proud of the contribution of the profession from land surveyor on the area of heritage preservation and education in the way of more informative, attractive and interactive, thereby more and more people will understand and love our history.

For over 10 years of working experience in 3D laser scanning, it’s our great pleasure to have Mr. Kwok to share his work and experience on how surveying skills and technology getting involved in the preservation and protection of archaeological findings.
