The Technical Seminar - Technical and Contractual Matters of Bored Piling Works would be held on 20 August 2015 in Macau, which is a joint CPD function with HKIS.

Speaker:

Mr Wallace Yeung, Contracts Manager, Vibro (HK) Ltd

 

Mr. Yeung has over 20 years of experience in supervising foundation and site formation projects in Hong Kong and Macao, especially in the piling works for Macau Studio City, Nova City Phase 4 and Phase 4 Residential Development in Macau. He is currently supervising a foundation project in Fai Chi Kei, Macau.

Details

 

Bored Piling has been widely adopted in Hong Kong and Macau as a major foundation type for withstanding the loading of high-rise buildings. The speaker will share his experiences in the following areas:

-          the merits and limitations of applying bored piles foundation both in Hong Kong and Macau;

-          the reasons for selection of bored piles when compared with other piling systems, like socket H-piles and precast prestressed concrete piles;

-          the construction sequences and typical details of bored piles; and

-          the common problems and contractual matters encountered in foundation projects.

 

Eligible for 1.5 CPD Hours / 1.5 Divisional PQSL Hours.
