A Visit - "The Zero Carbon Building (ZCB)" is held on 23 March 2013
Construction Industry Council (CIC), in collaboration with the Hong Kong Government, has developed the first Zero Carbon Building in Hong Kong - ZCB. ZCB is a signature project to showcase the state-of-the-art eco-building design and technologies to the construction industry internationally and locally as well as to raise community awareness of sustainable living in Hong Kong. Designed to achieve carbon neutrality, ZCB utilises solar panels and biodiesel made of waste cooking oil to generate renewable energy onsite. It has a total area of 14,700 square meters. Its key components include indoor and outdoor exhibition spaces, a multi-purpose hall, an eco-office, an eco-home, as well as outdoor landscape areas with Hong Kong’s first urban native woodland. In this visit, participants will be introduced the key features of ZCB and the green technologies deployed. |
