Technical Seminar on Solving Designing and Engineering Issues of a Mega Infrastructure Project with a Powerful Civil Software

Topic: Technical seminar on solving designing and engineering issues of a mega infrastructure project with a powerful civil software

Speaker:  Mr. Rob Maskey

Mr. Maskey is a Principal Engineer with Hyder Consulting Limited Hong Kong. and an experienced civil engineer who has worked on several international projects using various civil engineering software packages including autodesk civil3D. Mr Maskey will present how he solved the design and engineering issues in his latest project in Vietnam by applying a modern design methodology.

Advanced civil engineering software is becoming a trend in many infrastructure projects for design, generate and analyse surface models; create road alignments; and finally combined into a 3D model. In this model, all design elements are dynamically link with each other and automatically responded to any changes made. Hence, engineers could prepare an error-free model and modify any design changes per clients' requests. A case of the 125 hectare Halong Bay in Vietnam will be presented showing how design and engineering problems could be solved by using this advanced civil software.

Priority will be given to ICES members, thereafter place will be allocated on the “first come, first served” basis. Please register on-line via www.ices.org.hk/home.php or fax the reply form to the attention of Mr. Patrick Wong at 25233823. The number of participants is limited to 40. For enquiries, please contact Mr. Patrick Wong (Tel: 22309636) / Mr. Calvin Li (Tel: 91027495).
