Abstract
Hard copy drawings have been used for Construction Progress monitoring for decades. Preparation of these data (including illustrating interested items or construction progress with different color coding) could be a time consuming and inefficient process …… not to mention sharing of the most updated data and reviewing them by the management.
With the latest developed technology in Geographical Information System, data from different sources could be merged together; strong query features with easy to use “color coding thematic maps” could be used to illustrate interested items or progress. Data could also be shared via internal network with a properly deployed system. Authorized users with different levels of access rights could access the progress report (drawing, photos, history, etc) simply via Microsoft Internet Explorer, which is extremely efficient and environmental friendly.
In the session, Andy would like to share his recently experience in the implementation of Autodesk Civil 3D / Map 3D for construction progress monitoring in various projects. Andy will not only show how the system creates values and benefits to management, but also show how it fits in the daily workflow of engineering teams.
Priority will be given to ICES members, thereafter place will be allocated on the “first come, first served” basis.
