NEC amendments and additional conditions on HK Government Forms Update on NEC caselaw

 A review of the NEC amendments and additional conditions incorporated into Contracts currently being used in Hong Kong and some practical advice from case studies in managing these Contracts. Also there will be an update on recent NEC caselaw.

 

Speakers:

Peter is a partner in Pinsent Masons' Construction team. He lives and works in Hong Kong. He has extensive experience of advising and representing clients on NEC contracts both in Hong Kong and in the UK including advising the Hong Kong Government on preparation of contract documents for two pilot NEC PSC projects.
Peter's transactional and dispute resolution experience extends well beyond the NEC form. He has extensive experience of traditional dispute resolution procedures such as arbitration and mediation on traditional contracts but has also advised the Hong Kong Government on the planned introduction of security of payment legislation which will introduce improved payment practices and provide a right for disputes to be resolved by adjudication.

 

David is CEO of the DGA Group which he established in 1993 to provide contractual, commercial and programming support services to Clients in the construction industry. DGA now employs over 100 consultants worldwide.
David’s principal background is heavy civil engineering having worked on major road, tunnelling and rail projects both in the UK and internationally. He has substantial experience of adjudication, litigation and arbitration acting as either advisor in preparing or defending claims or acting as quantum expert on major infrastructure projects disputes. He has substantial experience of commercially managing NEC contracts on projects such as the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, London Orbital Railway and Crossrail.
