Abstract
In view of global warming and air pollution problems, engineers should work closely together with Architects, Structural Engineers, Building Contractors, and other specialists, to design and build “green” buildings that integrate with renewable energy systems, including wind turbines, solar photovoltaic panels, as well as solar heating and cooling systems.
In this talk, Mr Louis MT Ching would like to share his experience for presenting some of the buildings and projects in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, and some overseas projects that have been integrated with renewable energy systems. Also, Mr. Ching would like to share, and explain which type of renewable energy systems are suitable for the application in Hong Kong, as well as highlighting some of the design criteria for considering renewable energy systems to be integrated with the buildings to achieve favorable result.
