ICES President Mr. Harry Bell announced in the ICES annual dinner this year that ICES Hong Kong Region will launch the registration of the Chartered Engineer (CEng)/Incorporated Engineer (IEng) for the ICES professional members from 1st January 2018. Chartered Engineer and Incorporated Engineer’s status is a high prestige to the construction professionals and previously ICES professional members can only apply for the registration through the Institutions of Civil Engineers (ICE) and have to sit for the registration interview in London of UK.
ICES is now being the professional affiliate institution with the UK Engineering Council for the Chartered Engineer’s registration from 1st Jan 2016 and Incorporated Engineer registration from 1st Jan 2017 , currently there are more than 10 nos. of ICES professional members being successfully granted the Chartered Engineers’ status in UK since the launching from that date.
We are now calling for those ICES professional members who also possess the Chartered Engineer/ Incorporated Engineer’s status to help the ICES Hong Kong Region to implement the said registration; you can either help us as the Mentors to the candidates, being the Examiners to the registration or both. You will be required to attend the training to act for the two respective capacities. Your contribution to the ICES Hong Kong Region will be regarded as CPD hours and will be useful for your applying to be the Fellow to ICES in future. Furthermore your contribution will enhance the professional status of ICES in the construction industry and help us to earn international recognition where we can stand high amongst the competition with other professional institutions.
