Deformation survey plays an important role in Infrastructural works over the world. it measures the relative change and trend of horizontal movement and vertical settlement and hence shape and dimension of an object over times and the displacement of the object while applying different level of loads. Surveyor in analysing of the collected data which reach the AAA Levels, shall advise the Engineer to assess and decide if the measured displacement causes any significant impact and potential risks to the concerned structures.
Sr. Wong is a Fellow Member of ICES and professional Land Surveyor with over 30 years’experience in civil engineering works, conversant with Engineering Surveying by using various number of surveying techniques, such as Precise Geodetic Surveying, Photogrammetry, Laser Scanning, GNSS and Remote Sensing. He will describe the importance of deformation survey using automatic deformation monitoring system to monitor the horizontal movement and vertical settlement of an existing footbridge and an abutment of IEC in Causeway Bay.
