Ms Teresa Cheng, BBS, SC, JP is a Senior Counsel of HKSAR. She is also a Chartered Engineer, Chartered Arbitrator and Accredited Mediator. She is called to the Barin England and Wales; and admitted as solicitor in Singapore. She is the Vice Chairperson of teh Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre. She is teh Deputy President for 2007 and will be President for 2008 of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. She was a member of the Board of Trustees of teh CIArb and past chaiman of its East Asia Branch.
Abstract:
Construction contracts often permit an employer to order the temporary suspension of work. in some cases the contract or general law may also allow the contractor to suspend performance. This seminar will cover considerations in termination of contract at common law; nature and effect of repudiation; contractual right and consequence of determintion and susbension. Ms Teresa Cheng will also talk about some cases and her experience in this topic. |
