Building Information Modelling (BIM) Development in HK and Quantities Take Off from BIM

Organizer :  Hong Kong Institute of Building Information Modelling (HKIBIM)

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is the process of generating and managing building  data  during  its  life  cycle.  Typically,  it  uses  three dimensional,  real-time, dynamic building modelling software to increase productivity in building design and construction.   The   process   produces   the   Building   Information   Model   (also abbreviated  BIM),  which  encompasses  building  geometry,  spatial  relationships, geographic information, and quantities and properties of building components.

Speaker:

Ir Francis Leung, Chairman of Hong Kong Institution of Building Information Modelling

Ir.  Francis  Leung  is  the  Founding  Chairman  of  HKIBIM  and  director  of  BIM department of a multi-disciplinary consulting engineering company. He will give our members  an  introduction  and  update  of  BIM  development  in  the  construction industry  of  Hong  Kong  and  discuss,  using  structural  element  as  example,  the constraints  and  approaches  to  achieve  accuracy  in quantities take-off from BIM model.
